TAYLOR KING TO DEBUT PARTNERSHIP WITH INSIDEOUT PERFORMANCE FABRICS® AND SEAQUAL INITIATIVE AT APRIL HIGH POINT MARKET

TK SEAQUAL INITIATIVE

TAYLORSVILLE, NC - The Taylor King showroom at 200 Steele will showcase more than furniture this April market. Taylor King announced today it will debut a partnership with InsideOut Performance Fabrics® and SEAQUAL INITIATIVE at High Point Market featuring a collection of performance fabrics made from processed marine plastic on Taylor King’s handcrafted upholstery.

The new SEAQUAL INITIATIVE collection offers consumers a sustainable solution for performance-covered upholstery. SEAQUAL INITIATIVE works with ocean clean-ups around the world to bring value to the waste that they recover. To date, they have cleaned over 600 tons of waste from our oceans and transformed over 200 tons of marine litter into plastic that leading brands and manufacturers can use to create sustainable products.

One such manufacturer, Valdese Weavers, has developed a line of performance fabrics using SEAQUAL® YARN that meet the high performance criteria for InsideOut Performance Fabrics®. The resulting SEAQUAL INITIATIVE collection first debuted at the ITA Showtime in June 2021 and now will premiere at High Point Market in Taylor King’s 200 Steele showroom. An engaging and vibrant installation demonstrating SEAQUAL INITIATIVE’s mission and process alongside data on ocean pollution will create an immersive display to supplement the exhibition of Taylor King’s renowned furniture covered in InsideOut’s SEAQUAL INITIATIVE performance fabrics.

“Sustainability has always been a driving force behind craftsmanship at Taylor King,” said Del Starnes, president of Taylor King. “We’re proud to partner with Valdese Weavers and SEAQUAL to offer a sustainable product in the performance upholstery marketplace.”

To increase awareness, Taylor King will be giving away a chair upholstered in InsideOut’s SEAQUAL INITIATIVE fabric to a randomly selected user who posts a photo of themselves in the exhibition at Taylor King’s showroom with the hashtag #TKSEAQUAL on Instagram during High Point market, April 1-6.

“Now more than ever before, our consumers and the planet demand manufacturers find new and creative ways to produce goods that are environmentally friendly without sacrificing quality,” Starnes says. “We hope everyone will join Taylor King, InsideOut and SEAQUAL in celebrating innovative partnerships that bring much needed sustainable solutions to the furnishings industries.”
