FROM APRICOT TO INDIGO, DRESSY TO CASUAL:
TAYLOR KING
PROVES
THAT
VARIETY
IS THE SPICE OF LIFE IN HIGH POINT
Bold Color Stories and Eye-Catching Introductions Dominate the Showroom
TAYLORSVILLE,
NC - Taylor King, innovative designer and manufacturer of hand-crafted
upholstered seating and coordinating occasional furniture, is prepared
to make a bold statement at this fall's International Home Furnishings
Market in High Point. With a focus on color, spirited patterns and new
product development, Taylor King continues to bridge the gap between
traditional styling and fashion-forward design.
“With
our new introductions this market, Taylor King products will appeal to
a much broader customer base,” states Tanya Comer, director of
marketing. “While we still cherish our classic frames and traditional
approaches, we're excited to introduce dramatic color options and a
much broader range of frame styles, including many new transitional
silhouettes.”

Feeling Blue...and Brown:
Blends of blues and browns are a dominant fall fabric theme. Blue hues
with names such as robin's egg, tradewind, seaspray and bayberry are
refreshing when paired with rich browns like raisin, chocolate, camel
and taupe. Unique textures in this color story range from
chenille-framed damasks and chenille/boucle blends to ottoman weaves
and upscale silks.
A New Kind of Crewel:
An
unusual take on a traditional fabric, "Bartholomew Mink" features
embroidered crewel on a velvet base. Shown at market on a new
curved-back French settee, the dramatic pattern in rich slate, gold,
teal and red is paired with leather and accented with nailhead trim.
Tropical Trends:
Used in dressy and casual environments, fruity hues take center stage
this market. Hues like apricot, melon, mandarin and persimmon are mixed
with celery green, chocolate brown and toffee to create classic
paisleys like "Thornton Gingerwood" and traditional florals like
"Euforbia Apricot."
Leather Additions:
Taylor
King will introduce 25 new leather colors at the October market.
"Vellum" and "Brass" are new neutrals that make appearances on
transitional frame styles at market. Other fresh leather
colorations are Cayenne, Copper, Buttercup, and Pekoe. Many specialty
leathers, including two hair-on hides, will be used as exciting
accents.
Fashionable for Fall:
In unexpected combinations, Taylor King has paired rich chocolate
browns with spice colors such as cinnamon, persimmon and gingerwood. A
classic paisley design is combined with a large-scale hounds tooth
pattern and rich linen texture on a traditional sofa frame.

A NEW LINE LAUNCHES
Kings Court:
This fresh collection of upholstered furnishings will launch at market
with seven sofa styles, each with a coordinating chair, ottoman,
loveseat and queen sleeper option. Kings Court offers retailers and
designers more mainstream pricing without sacrificing fabric options or
skimping on construction. As an extension of the Kings Road product
line, the standard construction includes an eight-way hand-tied
foundation. As a more affordable option, the foundation of all Kings
Court pieces may be supported with Leggett & Platt's Soft Luxe™
encased coil system. All seven Kings Court styles will be available in
more than 250 fabric options. The starting retail price point for a
Kings Court sofa is $1,399.
NEW DESIGNS FOR MARKET
Taylor King:
Fabrics
with flair and variations of transitional track arm sofa designs are
the big introductions in the company's classic Taylor King line. With a
slight curve to the arms, the new 3014-03 frame offers a soft, sexy
twist on a transitional track arm sofa. This exclusive Taylor King
design is available with either a bun foot or waterfall skirt and is
deep enough to accommodate two rows of back pillows.
Other
new looks for Taylor King include a 108" long curved back sofa with
two, deep-seating cushions, shown at market in a herringbone boucle.
Six new recliner styles continue to strengthen this fast growing
product category for the company.
Kings Road:
The
King's Road collection sticks to its relaxing roots with new
introductions including a casual track arm sofa, the seventh and latest
frame style in the King's Road Casual Corners mix and match sectional
program.
Other
examples of this line's casual appeal include a sofa frame covered in
blue seersucker stripe and a new performance fabric collection made
from 100% polyester and resembling the look of brushed canvas. New
creative fabrics including stripes and florals incorporate colorways
like pear, apricot and lemon. A fashionable hounds tooth fabric,
"Killian Chocolate," is another new addition.
Taylor King Occasional:
In
keeping with the company's trend towards becoming a complete resource,
market attendees will enjoy an expanded Taylor King Occasional gallery
in the High Point showroom. The addition to the gallery nearly doubles
the existing space for the occasional line. TKO's market introductions
focus on 18th-century neoclassical design and incorporate new materials
including iron, glass and stone. For the first time, some of the
designs in the collection are composed using marble in a rich black and
copper combination.
Thaxton Lane:
Historically
crafted from only solid mahogany, this market Thaxton Lane adds a
distressed walnut finish for a casual look and feel to items debuting
in High Point. Like all Thaxton Lane occasional, the new introductions
are solid wood and feature hardware developed exclusively for the
traditionally styled collection.
The
Taylor King showroom, located on the 2nd floor of High Point’s 200
Steele Building, encompasses 15,000 square feet of space and
exemplifies the elegant and creative spirit of Taylor King. The
showroom is open 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. during spring and fall market
dates. For more information about Taylor King’s newest introductions,
