NEW FROM TAYLOR KING: FALL MARKET FAVORITES
High Point, N.C. -- At last week's High Point market, visitors were excited to see Taylor King's bold expansion of their transitional category, a collection that has steadily gained popularity over the last few seasons.
Geometric-inspired pieces such as the Cero chair (below), upholstered in a red and black wrought iron pattern, set the mood for Taylor King's new "Sophisticated retro". The Zeke quarter ottomans (right) are one of many new cocktail ottomans that Taylor King added this market.

Opulent Color
Subtle metallics, bittersweet spice tones, and bold black and white patterns were prevalent in the new introductions. Tanya Comer, director of marketing and head of fabric development at Taylor King, explained why these bolder elements were so successful for their retailers.
"A design with drama can instantly change the feel of a room," explained Comer. "Taylor King is known for use of color, and this season, we chose rich fabrics and finishes that are as luxurious as they are versatile."

New Mount Vernon Introductions
After its successful introduction at the spring 2007 High Point market, the enormous response to the Mount Vernon collection prompted Taylor King to introduce many new fabrics and frames, all inspired by pieces found in the home of George and Martha Washington.
While historical accuracy is of utmost importance, Taylor King updates 18th-century designs for the Mount Vernon Collection to better suit the lifestyle of a modern consumer. The deeper seat and lower, more natural arms of the Mary Ball Washington wing chair (above) allow for modern comfort while keeping the intricately hand-carved ball and claw legs as shown on the original chair. Likewise, the dramatic shape of the Latrobe upholstered bed (above) provides a modern take on the traditional colonial wing back.
