FABULOUS FRAMES AND FABRICS WITH FLAIR CAN BE FOUND AT TAYLOR KING IN HIGH POINT

Taylorsville, N.C. -- Taylor King showcases patterns with high drama and unique textures, while expanding its growing transitional category and Mount Vernon Collection at this fall's Home Furnishings Market.

Designs with Drama

Large-scale patterns are a prime example of Taylor King's new investment in voluptuous home furnishings this fall. The wall tapestry, Seville Antique (A) and their exclusive embroidered silk, Karma Cranberry (B) will catch your attention with their intricate detail and design.

The generous height and width of the Jacque Cuvee tight back settee (above right) provides an excellent backdrop for the authentic wall tapestry of Seville Antique. A chocolate pull-up leather and antique brass nails provide "old world" accents. The Jacque Cuvee settee retails for $2495.

The classic French exposed wood Beckett chair (below) features an inlayed wood border providing a decorative accent beneath the "old world" finish. The tight back is covered in Karma Cranberry's 100% silk fabric, a Taylor King exclusive, and is adorned with intricate stitching and embroidered designs that accent multiple pieces of silk velvet in an array of colors. The
Beckett chair retails for $1995.

The transitional Saylor "tub" chair (above) features a tapered wood leg and round base. Despite its stationary appearance, the chair contains a 360 degree swivel that is discreetly hidden within the chair. The 100% chenille yarn texture is tri-colored and sumptuous. The Saylor chair retails for $1495.

"Sophisticated retro" is a new style for Taylor King, found in the black and white floral Ebony Elixir paired with the Greek key design of Balantine Onyx (D) and the bold floral of Off the Wall Crimson paired with the graphic print of Tacito Flame (E).

Independence Sofa

A flashback to the sixties is captured with the retro Independence sofa (above) in a lipstick red crepe-weave fabric. Pillow accents include the brightly colored Off the Wall Crimson floral and multi-colored plaid on a jet-black background. The Independence sofa retails for $2995.

Mount Vernon Expansions

The successful launch of Taylor King's Mount Vernon Collection prompted Taylor King to expand on the original collection to include new fabric and frame additions.

Inspired by the home of the first American president, George Washington, and his wife, Martha, the Mount Vernon collection began as a series of more than 20 upholstered pieces. Taylor King worked closely with the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association to create the fabrics and styles for the collection, taking inspirational cues from the estate and styling patterns for today's consumer.

Historical accuracy was paramount in the development of the new fabrics, right down to the details in Sewing Case (F), modeled after the strips of multiple fabrics patched together from Martha's old dresses. The waistcoat design, Feather Vest Sage (G) is an exact replica of the green silk embroidered waistcoat worn by George Washington in the 1780s.

F. Sewing Case

Known for her needlework, Martha Washington regularly ordered needles, pins, thimbles, thread and other sewing implements. Designed to house the necessary tools of needlework, this sewing case features divisions, each utilizing a different fabric gleaned from various garments with a history of belonging to Martha Washington. The case would have been made by family members, who treasured these personal relics of Mrs. Washington.

G. Feather Vest Sage

This beautiful green silk taffeta waistcoat belonged to Washington and is a key example of his desire to be stylish yet simple in appearance. Washington ordered most of his and Martha's clothing from Europe so they could ensure that their goods were both of good quality and the height of fashion. The waistcoat is single-breasted with a linen back. The buttons are covered and the collar is of narrow stand style. The embroidered floral and feather pattern contains sprays of pink, light green and white.
